Psyched up or spaced out!?
© Brian Smith - www.dk10k.co.uk

Relays Day was its usual lovely warm September day, inviting runners and their supporters to have a final fling in the last of the Summer sunshine.

In the Women’s race, led off by Stella (19.34), then Susie (20.25), Margaret (18.03), and Sally (18.27), BVH moved steadily through the field to finish 32nd out of 51 completed teams. Well done to all, with an especially good run from Margaret. Linda produced what looked to be exceedingly good home made cakes, but the men did not have any, as they had to run later!

In the Men’s race, BVH finished 75th out of 89 completed teams.  Dean led off (in his first relay event) with a really good 22:38. He was followed by Steve (25:37), Sean 21.59, not bad really, Paul (24:17), Stuart (25:27) and John (26:00). At short notice, Barry ran the B team 1st leg in 27:46 and Mike had a good run out on the 2nd leg in 24:54.

Thanks to Paul for bringing the tent, the Chairman, the Roberts party and Phil, Angie and Millie for their support.  Also to Daniel and Jack Rose and Daniel Scotney for bringing their Daddies along with them to enable us to complete a team.

John P Ward.
