Come and have a Bournville Harriers 'Grand Day Out' with family activities and a club relay planned as part of the Midland Road Relays at Sutton Park.

When? - Saturday 20th October 2008

Where? - Sutton Park (Town gate entrance) near Sutton Coldfield.

Transportation - A coach will be hired for the day and will be picking up and dropping off at the Rowheath Pavillion alternatively you can go to the event by car, bus or train.

Club Relay - We will be entering as many teams as possible for both the Men's and Ladies events as part of the Midland Counties Road Relays.

Ladies Relay - The Ladies relay will start at 12 noon and teams will consist of 4 runners each running 4.315km - teams from each club are limited so please confirm you place ASAP

Men's Relay - The Men's relay will start at 1.30pm and teams will consist of 6 runners each running 5.847km - Teams from each club are limited so please confirm your place ASAP

The Route - The relay route is sited within the park and on traffic free roads.

Entry Fee - Entry fees will be paid for by the club and is open to all current club members to take part.

How to enter? - Please send an email to reserve your place.  You can also nominate a team you would like to run. Please email bvhmensrelays@googlemail.com you also need to confirm if you require a seat(s) on the official BvH coach.

Places will be limited and will be on a first come first served basis

The top 2-3 Men's and Ladies teams will be selected by the relay team managers and will be competing for a place in the National relays in October.

Closing Date for entries - The closing date will be Tuesday 26th August 2008.  Entries will be limited so please confirm your entry to bvhmensrelays@googlemail.com to confirm your place ASAP.  If you are unable to run then please come and join us to support the club, our runners and have a 'Grand Day Out'!

Family & Friends - We would like to invite friends and family members  to come along and have a day out at Sutton Park with activities and refreshments planned.

Acitivities & Refreshments - There is a children's play area nearby and we are planning on putting on fun activities and games.  We shall also provide some light snacks and refreshments, compliments of Bournville Harriers.  We would suggest you bring other picnic food items and refreshments of your own to eat and share. - B-B-Q's are not allowed within the park!

Club Tent - We will be using our new club tent which will be set up near the start and finish area as a meeting point for all BvH runners and supporters.

Results & Photos - The official results from Midland Counties are usually available within a couple of days after the event.  We shall be considering our own timekeeper (volunteers would be welcome) for the club relay event. BvH photographers are expected to be out-in-force on the day and all contributions will be gratefully received to capture what is hoped will be a memorable day.

Prizes - There will be BvH prizes awarded on the day (subject to timekeepers) for age category, fastest in team etc. as well as other spot prizes available.
