In leafy south west London I found myself cycling over to Hampton at six in the morning for a 7am ish start at Hampton outdoor pool.  The Triathlon involved a 400m swim in a lovely heated outdoor pool (no freezing lake for me!), 20km cycle ride primarily on quiet lanes around nearby Sunbury and finally a 5km run around Bushy Park (complete with deer).  The event was the last of a four part series, so if anybody is looking for a friendly, fast and flat sprint triathlon series next year, it comes highly recommended!  As usual I struggled on the cycle (my Achilles heel), but enjoyed the swim and the run (which being 5km and flat felt particularly short).  We also stayed at a houseboat b&b on nearby Taggs Island on the Thames, which was also a highly recommended aspect of the weekend.
