Confessions of a wannabe IRONMAN WK1
05 Jun 2006 07:22

Monday  -45 MINS 6 MILE (RUN) Following yesterdays long run of 2 hours, tonight was going to be a nice easy 40 min recovery run, So as we set of and I look around and see, Stuart Underwood, Terry, Ryan, Linda to name but a few, I knew that plan was out the window and despite my plan of staying at the front and dictating the pace, I still had to watch as we got on to the canal and everyone shot of like a herd of gazelle being hunted by a semi starved lioness who has a family to feed.

Tuesday – REST DAY well it looks like the weekend caught up with me, I could not even get out of bed this morning,

Wednesday – ANOTHER REST DAY (I’M GETTING VERY LAZY)

Thursday – (A.M. 2HR BIKE) I have come to the conclusion that I will only ever ride in the rain, at 5:15 this morning as I sat in the garden eating my porridge there was not a cloud in the sky. By 5:30 as I got on my bike the clouds had gathered and the rain had started, at 8:30 when I got to work the rain STOPPED.

Now you watch it start again at 4:30 when I leave to go home.

(P.M. 1.5HR BIKE + 45 MINUTES RUN) I take it all back a nice ride home in the sunshine what more can a man ask for. I know a gold colour nail brush that what I would really like. Run a good nice hill session funny how people cheer up when the sun comes out.

Friday  - 2HR BIKE   I ar*e is killing me, Sorry TO MUCH INFORMATION I still have trouble getting my head round the idea of a 112 mile bike ride

Saturday - what started out as a rest day turned out to be a 45 MILE 3HR RIDE DAY. It was just to nice today not to go for a ride and once out I felt great and just kept going, I have know idea where I went only that I headed out to Bromsgrove and came back via Solihull.

Sunday – 90 MINS RUN + 60 SWIM  Paul dugmore last run before his marathon meant an out and back along the canal with a raging hangover but despite the hangover it was nice to have the sun on my back and to see so many other BVH. Out so early on a Sunday morning. The swim was horrible and the less said about that the better.

In summary 12:30 hour of training this week not bad really, this ironman IS STARTING TO LOOK ALMOST DO-ABLE.
