Sean's FLM 2007 Training Diary wk2

Week 2 (8/1/07 – 14/1/07) [Mileage for the week = 40]

Mon (8/1)

The joy of Monday nights. A chance to have a slow jog and recover from Sunday.

I checked the website before popping out and saw that tonight was Harborne hills so definitely a go slow for me. Had to work on Kevin to stop him going off with Jon and the rest. So a slow 5 miler along Harborne Hills.

Tue (9/1)

Kev phoned up to let me know he couldn’t make tonight as his calf was sore……….and he wanted to go for a longer run last night.

I was shattered and with Kev dropping out I hung my trainers up. Lightweight!! We were going to do our speed session tonight….dooh.

Wed (10/1)

Kev again couldn’t make it so I wrote him an e-mail to make sure that he rested up. Saturday and Sunday are the important sessions this week so he needs to let his body heel. You never know he might fly on Saturday.

No rest for me though. Had to crack on but I did drop the hills and ran 8miles through Weoley Hill.

Thur (11/1)

Still no sign of Kev tonight. I joined the reps session but instead of doing intervals I ran constantly over 6 laps which is ~ 3miles. 18:50 pace with a mile warm up and a mile warm down.

I wasn’t flogging myself but I guess the edge must have been taken off me for Saturday. We’ll see.

Fri (12/1)

Rest before the big race.

Sat (13/1)

Oh well what can I say. A great day. A great race. A great result. A warm up, the race and then a good 2-3 miles warm down.

My write up is here.

Sun (14/1)

Looks as though the rest Kev got did the trick as he flew yesterday. Today we went for a gentle 14 miles. Nattered along for the first 8 miles which took us over an hour. Then onto the canal and a couple of miles at tempo before jogging back.

Really pleased that I have no after effects from yesterday….well no sore knee or hamstring. They both seem pretty good.
