Sean's FLM 2007 Training Diary wk 5
04 Feb 2007 21:11

Week 5 (29/1/07 – 4/2/07) [Mileage for the week = 39]

Mon (29/1)

New hotel. New treadmill. Banged out 5 miles in 35 min.

Tue (30/1)

Rest………….and work until 2am

Wed (31/1)

Pulled my back this morning which no doubt had something to do with being sat down all day yesterday until the wee small hours of this morning.

Struggled all day but seemed to loosen up a little as I walked back to the hotel so I went for it and ran my session on the treadmill. 1m steady, 4m in 24 min, 1 m warm down.

Thur (1/2)

A complete disaster. Every bit of transport I tried to take getting home was delayed. Missed my train because the trams were up the spout. My train was then 10 min late and then I had to queue for a taxi home.

In the end I was 10 min late getting to the club and had missed everyone. Double disaster was that it was my turn to lead the session!

I gave up and went back home as I had some work to do and send by 10.

Fri (2/2)

Knees and tendons are all a bit sore at the moment but I forced myself out to run 12 miles in 1h 25min. Bumped into Kev and Jon as I was running. In the end I was struggling with stiffness. No doubt not having any lunch didn’t help.

Sat (3/2)

Another frustrating day! The whole family went to the dentist in the morning so I missed cross country and didn’t get out later in the day. My own fault in the end as I watched the rugby. At least I spent a good 30 min stretching more sore spots.

Sun (4/2)

Spent most of the day round up having not run yesterday. Had to put off my run until the evening so I couldn’t run the route I had planned. It would have been too dark to run along the canal so I ran the same route as week 1 with an additional 5 miles. As I was feeling fresh I pushed the pace on the second half……….ran in my performance shoes to see just how I was doing.

Loved every minute of it. 1:49. Ran a perfect split 54:35 for the first 8 miles and 54:35 for the second. The second 8 was over more hills. Overall ran at 6:48 pace. Spot on for 2:59.
