Sean's FLM 2007 Training Diary wk10

Week 10 (5/3/07 –11/3/07) [Mileage for the week = 36]

Mon (5/3)

Feeling good today. 5 miles on the treadmill and 5 miles on the bike plus a good warm down. No problems after yesterday.

Tue (6/3)

Rest

Wed (7/3)

Working away is really playing up with how I plan my schedules. With 2 easy days I am up for something quicker. Should really have run a 40min fartlek but I’m just not happy to run in Manchester at night. Compromised with a gut busting 3x 10min (2mile) fast blast on the treadmill. With only 2 min recovery I dovetailed but still went at 1m@5:00, 1m@5:15, 3m@5:30, 1m@5:15. Then a 2mile warm down on the bike.

Thur (8/3)

Sore calves and tight around the tendons again. Went for any easy 6m with Mike Ferguson. Started off and my chest felt very tight. Umm have I over done it?

Fri (9/3)

Tired but in one piece. 12miles 1h 20m run along the Wyre Valley and Canal. Bumped into half of the club down there! Well almost.

Sat (10/3)

Hit my biggest low today. Went to x-country but was absolutely k*******d. Meant to do 3 laps x 1.5m at race pace but I just fell apart. This was basically the same session as Wednesday…..but with a longer recovery and I couldn’t hack it.

My tendons are still sore and it was an effort to push off and transition into any sort of form.

I kept saying to myself 3 more week 3 more weeks but it wasn’t helping.

Sun (11/3)

Sue has flu and I’m in need of an excuse! I gave this mornings run a miss and by the afternoon I was tired and with yet another slight sore throat. Decided with next weekend being the Silverstone ½ and mothers day that I would do the strategic thing and not go out today. Wimp!

I still have 2 x 20 milers planned so this is the time to regroup and get my strength back.

Mon

(12/3)

Still have a sore throat!!!!!!!!

I have just read Jon’s Fradley 10K write up! I think I’ll just go and curl up in the corner and utter “wibble”.
