Week 11 (12/3/07 –13/3/07) [Mileage for the week = 36]

Mon (12/3)

Still have a sore throat!!!!!!!!

I have just read Jon’s Fradley 10K write up! I think I’ll just go and curl up in the corner and utter “wibble”.

Well at least it’s a relatively easy week as I am running Silverstone ½ on Sunday.

Did 5 miles steady and 5 miles on the bike in the gym.

Tue

(13/3)

Came home today as I have workshops until Friday. Decided to stretch myself a little and did Harborne Hills going upto Quinton. Ran 10 miles in a comfortable 1hr 3min. Felt good to actually run for once and not just amble along.

Wed (14/3)

Moment of weakness tonight. A couple of the team have had birthdays so I was social for once and not a gym recluse.

Felt surprisingly tight today after last night. Perhaps I should really have done my warm down stretches. I’m getting lazy.

Thu

(15/3)

Ran a steady 4 miles (26 min). 1 mile warm up and down.

Fri (16/3)

Should have had a potter around the streets tonight but I got back quite late.

Sat

(17/3)

Went to cross-country but just did a couple of easy laps around the park while the rest of the gang did the training.

I’ve been feeling tight again. I seem to have all sorts of aches and pains this week.

Sun (18/3)

Nightmare. Treble booked today with a childrens party, mothers day and Silverstone.

Guess which one had to give in given that I’d be out for most of the day!! God I was grumpy all day. Partly from the disappointment but also form not having had a decent run in 3 days.

I planned out a 13m route around Cannon Hill. 4 laps of 3.4 miles so that at least I could have a good run. Set off and kept 6 min mile pace for 10.5 until the snow came! Absolutely cruising so I was really hacked off that I undoubtedly had a sub 1:18 in me today!!!

The one plus point of this is that I have at least proven to myself that I have the pace.
